Hello, Greetings! Roberta Frantzis is an Anishnaabe woman. On her Father’s side, they are Anishnaabek from Saugeen First Nation, and her Nokomis grew up in Neyaashingiming First Nation. She is Mukwa Dodem (Bear Clan) from the Madwayosh/Wellington Family. On her Mother’s side, they are Métis from the Red River, with ancestral connections to Moose Factory. As well as a European mix. She currently resides in Syilx Okanagan Territory.
Roberta has worked in our Indigenous communities as a helper for over twenty years. In 2021, she opened a private practice called Ninoshenh Counseling Inc. Ninoshenh means Auntie in Anishnaabemowin, and more specifically, it means Mother’s sister. Ninoshenh offers virtual one to one counseling as well as the option to wrap around village supports from our Auntie community. We also facilitate many Indigenous focused wholistic workshops, both online and in person. Our most requested service offering is the Hibernating Bear of Childhood Trauma.
