Saugeen First Nation Independent Business Association

Call Out for Advocacy Committee Member Seats (5)

The Chief & Council of Saugeen First Nation#29 are seeking application requests from interested, and registered, band-member business owners in the community to join the new Saugeen First Nation Independent Business Association (SFNIBA) Advocacy Committee.

The SFNIBA is a new program designed to provide support and advocacy for all our band member entrepreneurs by reviewing the business license by-law and providing recommendations, planning annual marketing campaigns, planning monthly workshops, planning special events, and assisting with fundraising efforts that will beautify the community through our community beautification plans (reinvestment opportunities).

The SFNIBA Advocacy Committee will be a volunteer position consisting of five (5) seats for local business owners who are paid and registered under the SFN business license by-law in Saugeen. The SFNIBA advocacy committee term will be every two years and commencing from the time of their appointment for the calendar year. NOTE: Since our business licensing by-law follows the calendar year, from January to December, the advocacy committee will also adhere to the calendar year for their two-year terms.

Interested applicants can submit a completed SFNIBA Advocacy Committee Application form by March 21, 2024. Forms can be found online, or you may print a copy and provide it to the Economic Development Department at:

Saugeen First Nation#29 Governance Building

6 Cameron Drive. Southampton, ON. N0H2L0

c/o Economic Development Dept.

Applications will be accepted by the Economic Development Department, then reviewed and approved by the Chief & Council. Those selected for a committee seat will be notified by the Economic Development Department as soon as possible.
